Dave has over 40 years of experience in Financial Services with a broad background in operations and technology. Previous roles included:

  • 20 years at Accenture as a partner focused primarily on mortgage banking and technology
  • Independent management consultant, working with firms such as Edward Jones, MasterCard International and Chase Home Finance
  • Mortgage Chief Information Officer at Freddie Mac and GMAC/ResCap/Ally

In his role at GMAC ResCap, prior to the 2008 credit crisis, Dave focused on leading efforts to build and implement software applications for the consumer and business lending business, capital markets, loan servicing, bank and real estate businesses. He also led efforts to consolidate the two previously separate organizations, RFC based in Minneapolis and Resi based in Horsham PA, to create ResCap.  As CIO of ResCap, Dave was a member of the Executive and Management Committee and reported directly to the Chairman and CEO. During the credit crisis, he had budget and staff responsibility for 1,400 people and two data centers through a period of significant downsizing in response to market conditions. He also was involved in the sale of GMAC Bank (now Ally), ditech Mortgage, Home Connects title business and GMAC Better Homes and Gardens real estate to generate needed liquidity.  He led the technology organization through a period of extreme change, TARP, layoffs and ultimately sale and shut down of the majority of the business some of which survive today in various new forms.

Following the crisis, Dave joined Freddie Mac amid the industry rebuild. There, he had responsibility for all application software across Freddie Mac including the Single Family, Multi-Family, Investments and Capital Markets and various enterprise functional areas. He later focused exclusively on the Single Family business and was a technology partner in the development of the Loan Advisor Suite of tools to include a modernized loan pricing platform, the creation and implementation of the industry Common Securitization Platform. In total, the multi-year efforts were comprised of 6 major programs of over $100 million dollars each.  As CIO, he was a member of the companies Operating Committee reporting directly to the CEO.

Dave is very committed to giving back. Since leaving Freddie Mac, he served for a year as a senior advisor/fellow for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services near Baltimore. He is devoted to a number of non-profit organizations in Annapolis, Maryland where he lives and sails.
