Alan Biegelman is a Director at Reference Point, bringing over 30 years of experience in leading technology initiatives across the financial services sector, including Capital Markets Trading, Origination, Analytics, Sales, Research, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Payments, and E-Commerce. Known for his strategic and collaborative leadership style, Alan has a track record of successfully navigating complex, ambiguous situations and leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams to deliver transformational global projects.
At Reference Point, Alan has played pivotal roles in major initiatives, including a comprehensive bank and brokerage integration and a significant back-office consolidation project. His expertise in program management and technology strategy has been instrumental in these and other high-impact projects.
Before joining Reference Point, Alan held senior positions at several leading firms, each marking a significant phase in his career. At Smith Barney, he led the Fixed Income Trading technology team, where he was responsible for all cash trading and analytics systems. In his tenure at Citigroup, Alan was instrumental in spearheading the program management team, contributing to the launch of an NFC Mobile Wallet in Hong Kong. As the CTO of e-commerce at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ), he played a pivotal role in progressing the company’s digital strategy. At Credit Suisse, he had responsibility for Sales, Research & Analytics, and Debt Capital Markets technology. His time at Verifone was marked by his leadership of the PMO for the commerce services business, to drive the transformation of the company from a traditional hardware focus to a diversified software and services enterprise. Across all these roles, Alan's responsibilities encompassed managing global software development teams.
Alan holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BS in Computer Science. Outside of work Alan is a Director for Tigers In America and enjoys tennis, skiing, scuba diving, wine making, and spending time with his family.
